This quote from an email of a Mother of three Joe fans. "There are a lot of CD's for kids out there and we've purchased most of them, but 90% rarely get a second listen, Joe's CD's are the ones we always return to, until every last note is committed to memory."
Joe's 2007 CD Release, "Everybody Plays Air Guitar" won a 2008 Parent's Choice Approved Award. Here is their review. "Everybody Plays Air Guitar is Austin based musician and singer Joe McDermott's fifth album for children. Musically he is akin to the bands like They Might Be Giants and the B52's, which works well for kids six to ten, yet he remains musically stylish enough for parents. With tunes like the lightly rocking "Our Family Car is a Helicopter," the acoustic ballad "Spider Magic," the romping "Roller Coaster," and the vaguely classically influenced "Momma's Gonna Have A Baby" McDermott's his songs are a little off center, but in a good way. His Doo Wop song based on the traditional "I've Been Working on the Railroad" is a stand out.
